My musical journey has been quite the ride. When our parents bought me my first keyboard I couldn't have dreamt where those black and white keys would take me. Now, several years later and hopefully with several more years to go, I find myself looking back on a career that has taken me all over the world, working for several UK artists including Jamelia, Leo Sayer, Lulu, Rebecca Ferguson, Paul Young, Mel C, The Overtones, Heather Small, Tulisa, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and many others.
But no matter how many gigs I do, how big or small or who I work with I have always loved playing and singing at weddings. Some people are cynical about marriage, but I've always been a huge fan and to be invited to play someone’s most special day is an honour and a responsibility I take very seriously. Some people find me online, but more often than not one wedding will lead to the next, which is a huge compliment as far as I’m concerned. As the gentleman of the piano bars I know how to get a party started and keep it going, whether solo or with my band; and in my role as a more serious artist and recording musician I also take a great deal of pride in making sure that performances during the ceremony sound as good as possible and are handled with all the respect that such an important occasion deserves. |
I especially love the weddings I do when I get to work with Paul. I guess you'd say I'm biased but his photography is truly something special. To my mind he gets 'inside' the occasion and captures moments like no one else can. He also gets what I do better than anyone else and together we inspire eachother to do better. When I see his photos of people dancing or listening to my music they always seem to capture the atmosphere perfectly.
